There’s been a flurry of Twitter activity this week over a piece I wrote for Tatler a couple of years ago, about British men falling for American women. ‘Twas ever thus, is the gist of my piece really. It’s only gone online now because Prince Harry’s engaged.

I put a joke about Britain ‘giving’ America its liberty back in there and I also mentioned the words ‘blow’ and ‘job’ consecutively which has apparently upset today’s Mary Whitehouses. So sorry if this has caused anyone to reach for the smelling salts.
