A thing about rich Greeks

In this month’s Tatler, I wrote quite a long piece about the Greeks kicking around town at the moment. Nothing necessarily new there, of course. London has long been refuge for Greek kings who have misplaced their crowns. But there has been a bit more Greek money here in the past decade, and the flight of money from Athens has sped up a bit as the Greek government lurched from crisis to crisis in more recent years.

Spectator columnist Taki mounted a spirited and eloquent defence of Greek shipping families (to be fair, he is from one of them), and called my piece ‘bollocks’ in his column last week, which I’m sorry to say I rather view as a badge of honour.
