I’m off for a lesson about how to use my new website on Thursday and then I’ll start updates on here again. I hope my determination to keep my new website regularly updated goes better than my current diet, which have put myself on in an attempt to shift excess cheese weight ahead of my book launch. Trouble is I’ll be good for two days and then decide to reward myself with a treat for breakfast, like an almond croissant. Do you think Gisele ever treats herself with an almond croissant? I expect not.
The Plus One is out in two and a half weeks and it was very lovely of ES mag to include it in their round-up of best new summer books last week. See below. I’m fairly nervous about it. Will people like it? Will people hate it? Will some class warrior on Twitter scream about how irrelevant and appalling the aristocracy in it is? Who knows. We can only do our best , right? It’s a bit like the feeling of anticipation before a particularly personal article comes out, but writ large. All I want is to make readers laugh. We could all do with more of a laugh at the moment, I reckon. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that. And in the meantime, there’s always almond croissants.
