Further to the hot cross bun debate, someone on Twitter today mentioned a bakery in Truro called Da Bara where the baker makes fresh hot cross buns and then serves them in the Da Bara cafe with crispy bacon and maple syrup. Just to be clear, this is OK. You are not adulterating the basic hot cross bun recipe. You are merely adding filling to the bun.
